| Motorbike Trip in Argentina – Exploring the colors of North Argentina | |
| Buenos Aires – Rosario – Cordoba – Villa Union – Belen – Cafayate – Purmamarca -Salta – Buenos Aires | |
|
The north of Argentina has perhaps the most beautiful scenery
and people of Argentina. The quietness of the towns, the colours
of the mountains, the strange shape of the rock formations and
the amazing local food make this trip unforgettable. It is an
adventure as many of the areas have not been yet well developed
in tourism and remains as they were, nice and quiet, not spoiled
by the masses! This tour is based on a luxury hotel in Buenos Aires and comfortable and stylish boutique hotels in the rest of the country. |

| Day 1:
Buenos Aires Arrival in Buenos Aires. Private transfer to hotel. Lodging in Hotel Casasur Art Hotel or similar in a superior room. Day 2: Buenos Aires Day at leisure to enjoy the city. Lodging. Breakfast, (B). Day 3: Buenos Aires – Rosario (290km) We receive the bikes this morning, a BMW 650 or similar. We drive approximately three and a half hours to Rosario. This is one of the most important cities in Argentina and it had grown a lot in the last years. In the afternoon, we recommend to make a short visit in the bikes to the city port and river front that is very nice and full of bars and restaurants. Lodging at Hotel Esplendor Rosario or similar. B. Day 4: Rosario – La Cumbre (488 km) This will be a long day on the bike, approx. 5/5.30hs. Most of the way will be on the “Ruta 9”. We will provide maps and all the necessary information in Buenos Aires. Arrival in La Cumbre and lodging at Hotel Angelus. La Cumbre is a very nice small town located in the “Sierras of Cordoba”.There are several roads around La Cumbre that are great to travel by bike. For instance one of the races of the Rally World Tour takes place every year around La Cumbre. B. Day 5: La Cumbre This day is at leisure to relax and perform short rides in the area. We recommend visiting the Jesuit Missions in Asconchinga, Santa Catalina and Jesus Maria. Lodging. Day 6: La Cumbre – Villa Union (465 km) Again this will be a long day driving, approx. 5/5.30 hours, on good roads. Arrival in Villa Union and lodging at Hotel Pircas Negras. B. Day 7: Villa Union – Moon Valley and Talampaya Today is the day to visit in the bikes the amazing Talampaya and Ischigualasto National Parks. We recommend visiting Talampaya in the morning and Moon Valley Ischigualasto in the afternoon, as the light is better. Return to Villa Union. Lodging. B. Day 8: Villa Union -Belen (340 km) Today we will drive through one of the most beautiful roads of Argentina “Cuesta de Miranda”. Although the distance in kilometers is not very long, it will be a long day as there will be several stops on the way for pictures and also the road is dirt road in Cuesta de Miranda so we can not go fast. Also on the way we recommend a stop at the small and interesting town of “Londres” and a visit to Shinkal Inka ruins. Lodging in Hotel Belen. This is a small town known in Argentina as the “Capital of Poncho”, Ponchos are the local coats, very interesting, full of colors, made by the Indians to protect from the cold. B. Day 9: Belen – Cafayate (262 km) This will be a relaxed drive across road 40 to Cafayate. On the way we recommend a stop at the Quilmes ruins, which are one of the oldest Inka Ruins in Argentina. Continue to Cafayate. This afternoon we recommend visiting also some of the local wineries located around Cafayate. Arrival and lodging at Hotel Cafayate Wine Resort or similar. B Day 10: Cafayate -Cachi (160km) This will be a beautiful day for riding. We continue on Road 40 and take another of the highlights of this mythical road. We drive through “Quebradade las Flechas” to Molinos where we recommend a stop for lunch. Then we continue to Cachi. Arrival and lodging in Hotel El Cortijo or similar category. B. Day 11: Cachi -Purmamarca This day we have 2 alternatives of roads to take. For those who want something more adventurous can continue through Road 40 to La Poma, San Antonio de los Cobres, Salt Flats and arrive to Purmamarca after 300km in dirt, isolated roads. Of course the road is completely amazing, but tough and it takes approx. 8 or 9 hours considering stops for lunch in San Antonio de los Cobres and for pictures in Salinas. Those who want something easier can go down to Salta through Recta del Tin Tin, Valle Encantado, Cuesta del Obispo and then continue to Purmamarca through the highway. This will be 340km and approx. 6/7 hours drive – and the scenery is alo excellent on this route. Arrival in Purmamarca and lodging at Hotel La Comarca or similar. B Day 12: Purmamarca This will be a day to relax and continue visiting the main highlights of this beautiful area of Argentina. We recommend to visit Tilcara, Maimara, Humahuaca, etc. Return to Purmamarca and lodging. Day 13: Purmamarca – Salta Today we drive back to Salta. We recommend taking the road of the Jungle that is great for a bike as it has wide, long curves. The drive to Salta will take approx. 3 hours. Rest of the day free to visit this colonial and very nice city. Lodging at Hotel Ayres Salta or similar. Day 14: Salta – Buenos Aires Today we drop off the bikes in the centre of Salta and fly back to Bs. As. Arrival to local airport and transfer to hotel. Lodging in Casa Sur or similar. B.
