Tango Immersion Tour, Buenos Aires, Argentina 8 days learn to Tango in Buenos Aires
This tour is a must for the dance lover. And what a way to learn!! The Tango today represents Argentina country at international events. Its sensuality has traveled the world over in the voices of famous singers. From its origin in the marginal neighbourhood of La Boca at the beginning of the twentieth century, Tango has come a long way and today is danced in the finest dancehalls in Buenos Aires and the world: a dance that originated in brothels became a myth and is today a symbol of the city and country. You will learn to dance Tango the way it was meant to be danced visiting authentic Tanguerias and see historical Tango spots in Buenos Aires.
Day 1: Arrival in Buenos Aires. Guests will receive complimentary flowers for the female guests and private transfer by the hotels from the airport to the San Telmo accommodations in the heart of the city. After check-in, there will be a small welcome reception at the hotel with live tango music, champagne, fresh fruits and sweets. After getting settled in, take an afternoon city tour with a bilingual guide to see the highlights of Buenos Aires and learn about its history, people and architecture visiting the neighbourhoods of the Recoleta, Palermo and Boca among others. Some of the exciting highlights will include the Colon Theatre, the National Congress and the Presidential Palace. Day 2: After one of the classic Argentine breakfasts available daily from the menu at the hotel (and included in this package), get ready to take your first private Tango lesson. After the hour and a half private instruction, you will begin to feel the passion of the tango. With this afternoon free, explore the cafes and antiques in San Telmo or choose from our extensive list of activities and excursions to help make this travel experience unique to each individual or group. Perhaps choose to experience the city this afternoon through its renowned gastronomy or take some wine-tasting courses, cultural or architectural tours. We can also arrange tickets to a soccer game during your visit this week or locate the most exclusive golf or polo courses this city has to offer. Day 3: Enjoy this morning to explore the city on your own or opt for one of our exclusive tours highlighting the Recoleta Cemetery where Eva Peron and great Argentine aristocratic families are buried or the Colon Theater with its extraordinary acoustics and beautiful architecture. There will be some free time before your evening group class of Tango in the Mansion Dandi Salon. Afterwards, you will be taken to a milonga (where the porteños go to dance tango) with all of your transportation and entrance fees included. Most milongas begin after 22h00 or 23h00, so this may be a late night!
Day 4: Enjoy this morning free to go exploring or clothes shopping along Florida Street or in the smaller boutiques of Palermo Viejo. Relax in one of the local parks or find a trendy café to recharge yourself before an evening group Tango lesson at the Dandi Mansion. We will arrange a special evening dinner and Tango show for you. Day 5: Begin the morning with private tango lessons. Afterwards, the rest of the day is free. Call us to arrange an exclusive journey to one of the private estancias around Buenos Aires to enjoy the peaceful Argentine countryside or to learn about the gaucho lifestyle. Don’t miss out on an opportunity for a great barbecue as well! Day 6: The entire day is at your leisure. We can arrange an excursion to Tigre, north of the city on the delta of the Paraná River. Enjoy a boat tour around the islands and waterways and then have lunch or dinner at one of the island restaurants to enjoy fresh homemade pasta or steak. Day 7: Your evening is already planned for a night in a traditional milonga with transfers and entrance fees included. During your free time in the day, we can organize additional tango instruction, culinary or wine-tasting classes or other cultural tours or excursions to add variety and make this holiday truly unique. Day 8: Enjoy the morning free to do some last minute shopping before the private transfer to the airport to continue your journey in South America or return home. Don’t forget to ask the butler service to help make sure your bags are packed neatly before you leave the hotel!
