Day 1: Arrival in San José, Costa Rica Upon arrival at the San José international airport you will be greeted by a representative from Albee Adventures for a private land transfer to your hotel El Rodeo. El Rodeo is a four-star Costa Rica country inn, located only 10 minutes away from the Juan Santamaría international airport, el rodeo seeks to replace the cold, impersonal ambiance with Costa Rican charming warmth, plus exceptional service in a natural and peaceful environment. Day 2: Tortuguero You will leave hotel El Rodeo in the morning by ground transfer. Admire the biodiversity of an astonishing area as you drive through Braullio Carrillo national park, a primary forest in 95% of its extension. You will be served with a delicious typical Costa Rican breakfast en route. Moreover be a guest in a banana processing and packaging plant and learn more about Costa Rica’s prime product. Upon arrival at the port you will board a boat. Let this exotic paradise enchant you as you travel along the Tortuguero canals. Have a one-in-a-lifetime experience in this unique spot with its great variety of flora and fauna and wildlife of breathtaking beauty. Pachira Lodge will welcome you with a cocktail and after the served lunch you will have the opportunity to visit the museum, the beach area and the picturesque Caribbean town of Tortuguero. Day 3: Tortuguero Today you will board a boat to visit the Tortuguero national park and take a hike through the nearby forests. the park has incredible biological variety, due to the existence within the reserve of eleven different habitats, including rainforest, swamps, beaches, and lagoons. its beaches are key nesting ground for endangered sea turtles, such as hawksbill, loggerheads, green and leatherbacks. the rivers within the park are home to sensitive populations of manatees, as well as caimans, crocodiles, and tropical gar, which is considered a living fossil. the forests are home to jaguars, three species of monkeys (spider, howler, and white-faced capuchin), and three-toed sloth’s. Overnight at Pachira Lodge/ breakfast, lunch and dinner included. Day 4: Arenal Volcano After breakfast depart back to the mainland. On the route you will enjoy a traditional lunch at the restaurant in Guapiles where you will be provided with a rental car (Toyota Rav 4). You continue your trip on your own and drive to the Arenal Volcano area, where the giant Arenal volcano awaits you. The ride will lead you through the hills of the central valley: enjoy the amazing view! Your destination area shelters the most active volcano of Costa Rica and even one of the world’s most active volcanoes, the Arenal volcano (1633 m). This amazing volcano produces ash columns, explosions and red lava flows almost daily. Overnight at Arenal Springs Resort/ breakfast included Day 5: Arenal Volcano Enjoy a free afternoon at the Arenal Volcano area – many optional activities to enjoy! Overnight at Arenal Springs Resort/ breakfast included Day 6 : Monteverde Take your rental car and drive to the Monteverde cloud forest area.This cloud forest is the most visited national park in Costa Rica. Monteverde's acclaim comes largely from its high biodiversity, boasting 130 species of mammals, 500 species of birds, 120 species of amphibians and reptiles as well as 3,000 species of plants. Overnight at Hotel Sapo Dorado/ breakfast included. Day 7: Monteverde Free day in Monteverde – choose from one of the many optional activities we offer! Overnight at Hotel Sapo Dorado/ breakfast included. Day 8: Tamarindo Leave the mountainous region today to spend some days at the beach, in Tamarindo at the pacific coast. Tamarindo town is a vibrant tourist village, offering a great nightlife with all its restaurants, hotels and bars. The beach is a three and a half kilometer stretch of white sand and warm blue water. Tamarindo is surrounded by national parks to its north and south, and mountains with breathtaking views to its east. Nature is abundant, leatherback turtles lay their eggs in the northern part of the bay, howler monkeys are heard and seen swinging on branches throughout Tamarindo. In some restaurants giant iguanas will come up to your table expecting table scraps. In the late afternoons you can hear the parakeets screeching in the trees, preparing to settle down for the night. Tamarindo Diria is the ideal place to spend a peaceful yet exciting vacation. This beachfront hotel offers a tempting full buffet breakfast; guest may relax at the refreshing pool, the deep-blue ocean or in the tropical gardens of the hotel grounds. you can end your day watching the sunset from the spectacular ocean terrace. You might relax at the beach or at the resorts pool area or might visit playa grande, an important nesting site for the leatherback turtles or nearby playa conchal with its fine white sand consisting of small shells. Overnight at hotel Tamarindo Diria/ breakfast included/ Pool view rooms Day 11: Manuel Antonio Today you have a special adventure planned! Drive on your own from Tamarindo to Manuel Antonio. This is about a 6 hour drive leading you to one of the most beautiful national parks in the country. This beach area is apparently a real paradise as it contains the most popular national park with its gorgeous white beaches, surrounded by lush tropical rain forest. The centrally located Mimos Hotel offers a great value in a tropical setting and family friendly environment, tastefully furnished accommodations and fine food in the hotel owned Italian restaurant “Mamma Mia”, conveniently located between the National Park Manuel Antonio and the small fishing town of Quepos. Overnight at Hotel Mimos / breakfast included. Day 12: Manuel Antonio National Park This day dedicates to further relaxation by the beach and a guided visit of the Manuel Antonio national park. Established in 1972 with an area enumerating 4,014 acres (16.24 km²) (the smallest of any Costa Rican national park), it is the destination of as many as 150,000 visitors annually and well-known for its beautiful beaches and hiking trails. 109 species of mammals and 184 of birds are present in the park. Day 13: Manuel Antonio Relax by the beach or pool or you might take your rental car to visit some more beaches, like the white and lonely beaches of Matapalo or Uvita south to Manuel Antonio. Day 14: Back to San José This day you will leave this magnificent area to go back to the capital where you will enjoy the last night of your trip and might rethink all the great moments of your Costa Rica vacations. You will be picked up at your hotel in the morning to San José international airport for your homebound flight. |
