The Mount of Sargho is located at the south of the Atlas Mountains chain. It is the last massif before reaching the sahara. This volcanic massif offers a very large diversity of interesting landscapes such as canyons, forest of basaltic peaks. In this setting of volcanic mountains, the only villages are few houses surrounded by some palm and almond trees. This region is the origin of the nomads of Ait Atta who live there with their herd during winter. The itinerary is a journey south-west / north-east via the most prestigious massifs. It will give you the opportunity to discover also a part of the Draa & roses valley of Dades’ Boumalne. This itinerary is the only one that will guarantee you many majestic landscapes with splendid views over the snowed High Atlas Mountains chain and it will give you the possibility to meet with the locals who are known for their hospitality and warm welcome. Day 01 : Marrakech Arrival to Marrakech, welcome, assistance and transfer to your hotel. Day 02 : Marrakech-Ouarzazate-Handour (1 hour of walk) Early departure by minivan to Ouarzazate by crossing the Tizi N’Tichka passes (2260 m). We will cross a part of Draa Oued via Agdz. A little bit further down, we will meet with our mule’s drivers. We will start then hiking in the massif of Sargho. Night under tent. Day 03 : Handour (1200m)-Ighazzoun (1300 m) (6 hours of walk) Crossing of the Handour Valley. Overnight under tent in Ighazzoun N’Imlasse. Day 04 : Ighazzoun (1300m)-Bab n’Ali (1400m) (5 hours of walk) We will continue our hiking by the small gorges of Taghourt; we will see many basaltic peaks as well as the imposing Bab n’Ali that will systematically remind us of Hoggar. Possibility to see campments of nomads. Night under tent in Bad n’Ali. Day 05: Bab n’Ali (1400m)-Afourar(1518m) Gli (1800m) (4h30 of walk) We will progress through the Afourar Gorges before reaching our camp site for the night under tent located next to the small village of Igli. There are many optional tours in the surroundings Night under tent Day 06 : Igli (1800m)-Tizi N’Kouaouch (2500m)- Almou N’Ouarg (2100m) (6 hours of walk) We will cross the Kouaouch pass from where we can have a general view of the whole massif. After, we will climb the summit 2556 m to have a very nice view over the massif and the plain of Boumalne. Leaving behind there the topped snowed peak of the Atlas. we will continue our journey till Almou N’Ouarg. Night under tent. Day 07 : Almou N’Ouarg (2100m)-Tagdikt (1660m) (3h30 of walk) After walking for a while we will reach the very nice valley of Dades and will continue till Tagdilt where our minivan will be waiting for us for a transfer back to Marrakech. Overnight at your hotel. Day 08 : Marrakech – Departure After breakfast, transfer to Marrakech airport, assistance to different embarkation formalities for flight back home.
